Museums, Universities, Festivals & Partners

Mandala has ongoing relationships with the Art Institute of Chicago, the Field Museum of Natural History, and the International House on the University of Chicago campus. We regularly perform at Navy Pier and and various world music & dance festivals across Chicagoland. We are happy to count the Chicago Humanities Festival and the Chicago Botanic Garden as regular partners and co-collaborators.

Mandala likes to expose kids to world cultures through meaningful and fun activities. They experience language through movement and connect to ancestral stories. One of our most popular programs "Bombay Bangkok Bali Express" engages participants in the making of masks, the art of "call and response," and the creation of narratives through hand gestures and facial expressions. Sometimes their family, friends, and neighbors get involved, too.

Faith-Based Programs

Using myths and fables as our inspiration, Mandala presents performances for faith-based organizations that represent a moral value or an ethical dilemma and that provide cultural insights into South Asia. We've visited Hindu Temples and Jewish Synagogues. We are ecumenical in approach and invite interfaith dialogue.

Contact us for more information about any of our community programming or bringing South Asian dance and music to your community.

Mandala is proudly supported by these organizations.
