Mandala Academy‘s Beginner I class introduces young students to the world of Bharatanatyam. Our classroom explores technique in fun and familiar ways; we make connections to mythology and Indian culture – through our bodies! By the end of our class, students will learn a full routine and will have thorough understanding of mudra (hand gesture),  adavus (complex movement sequences), and rhythms of classical Indian dance.

This class runs from January 3rd through May 16th. All students are encouraged to perform and prepare for Mandala’s annual Academy Showcase on May 23rd.
