We offer Bharatanatyam and Indian Classical Music education for students of all ages and experience levels.

Dance Immersion
Our Academy studio classes welcome beginners and returning students to study Indian music and dance. Are you pursuing a challenging course of music or dance education preparing for professional performance? Or, are you simply keen to have fun and move to the diverse sounds and rhythms of India? Mandala offers Bharatanatyam and Indian Classical Music.
Our highly trained professional artists teach for the Academy who are supervised by internationally acclaimed Mandala Executive Artistic Director Pranita Nayar. Pranita Nayar, is an eleven-time recipient of the Illinois Arts Council’s Master Teacher Award. Chethan Anant, Interim Executive Director, leads the Bharatanatyam classes.
Academy offers classes for children, teens and adults in Chicago, Schaumburg and Aurora.

Children’s Dance Class
Childhood is the best time to learn new languages—the language of Dance should be no different! Instill a passion for movement and expression at an early age. Learn gestures, postures, stories and movement. Showcase a heritage, embrace a tradition, explore a variety of dance styles, train with new friends. Gain confidence, creativity and cultural awareness all through dance! Oh, and did we mention the costumes you get to wear at performance time?!
Explore and indulge in classical Indian dance classes. Mandala offers Bharatanatyam and Odissi dance for ages 3 and up, with multiple levels for pre-schoolers, children and teen.
Our curriculum is specifically designed for the nuances of learning cultural arts in the diaspora.
Adult Dance Classes
Reinvigorate your dancing skills from the past or learn new ones—we know there is a hidden dancer in you.
Keep up a healthy lifestyle with Mandala studio classes in Bharatanatyam or Kathak for adults. There is no better way to keep yourself in shape and have fun at the same time! Our supportive classroom environment is for all learners, we encourage students to move at their own pace.
Mandala also offers workshops in a variety of dance styles, including folk, contemporary and fusion forms from South Asia.
